Position overview

We are seeking a skilled individual (or couple) with a clear call from God to join our church as Senior Pastor. This role will involve leading other church staff and ministry leaders, teaching the congregation, being an integral part of the church governance (Board of Elders) and mobilising Waikanae Baptist Church for successful mission in the community and beyond!

Skills and attributes we are looking for

The ideal candidate for this role will be:

• Devoted to Jesus Christ and passionate about mission and seeing people becoming devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

• Theologically trained, with strong preaching and teaching skills.

• Experienced and successfully shown capability as an accountable leader.

• Skilled in building effective and healthy teams and ministries.

• Able to unite a church community, and inspire and lead members to follow God’s plans for the church.

• Open to and led by the Holy Spirit, and able to encourage and equip people and ministries to be Spirit-led.
